Day 5- :Just as fast as I could from the West Texas town of El Paso, Out through the badlands of New Mexico."

Today's Route

332 miles

6:48 pm

The internet here in Albequerque is not working very well at all. Hopefully I'll have Day 5 pics up tomorrow.

5/23/10 - Denny's has some pretty quick wireless. Here are some pics from yesterday:

Don't mess with it

Everything is bigger in Texas

Everything is also flatter, at least in the panhandle

Not much around this part of the drive, there were a few hills in the distance on the west side of the panhandle

New Mexico - Cleaner than Old Mexico

Starting to get hilly

Some snow capped Rockies in the distance

Old Town Albuquerque, the original part of the city. Pretty much a tourist trap.

But they had a Mariachi band, so they have that going for them

Nob Hill part of Albuquerque, pretty interesting part of town

Kelly's Brewpub, where Maddy and I had dinner

Maddy in the tent ready for bed

Pretty long drive today. There is NOTHING in New Mexico between Texas and Albuquerque, it actually reminded me a lot of central Australia. It was also ridiculously windy, driving into the wind I couldn't get the Jeep above 60 mph. Also, I can't imagine doing the drive without Sirius. It makes the time fly. Even got to listen to the Flyers game at the end of the drive. Heading to Phoenix tomorrow where I'll be staying with a friend.
