Day 4 - "I'm proud to be an Oakie from Muskogee, A place where even squares can have a ball. We still wave Old Glory down at the courthouse, And white

Today's Route

About 330 miles

9:30 am

Heading out to Black Kettle National Grassland to camp. It's a short drive, so I should get there relatively early. Sounds like a nice place to camp, on a small lake, it's free, and there's fishing. I'll try to post pics tonight if I can do so from my phone.

Leaving Fort Smith, AR - real America

On into Oklahoma

I hope not. How do I find out?

Eastern Oklahoma

Great roadtrip song. Really, it is.

Tornado country

Downtown Oklahoma City

A wind farm in Oklahoma

Small oil

Here is the campground in Black Kettle National Grassland. It was on a small lake, and there were just a handful of other people there. Not surprising considering it was 40 minutes away from I-40.

Helping me fish

No luck though

Hotdogs on the campfire for dinner

What's a campfire without whiskey and a cigar?

I have a bunch more pictures from today, I'm going to put all of the pictures in a digital album after the trip.

  1. Hi Evan
Enjoy your day today, hope the weather is more agreeable than yesterday. If you didn't bring a fishing pole maybe Maddie can jump in and catch your dinner!
    Looking forward to more pics
    Love mom

  2. Hi Evan
You are quite an adventurer, like your grand-
mother (used to be). Waiting for some pictures of the camp. Love you, Nana
